VoyceTails: A Few of Joel's Favorite Things
First up, Joel is a lucky little guy not only because Laila buys him treats but also because he spends his time at a dog-friendly office where all sorts of dog treats can be had, from multiple humans, as well as appropriate human snacks too.
Here are some of his favorite treats:
- Lamb Lung – sounds yucky to us, but he would beg to differ, as you can see here:
- Cheddar Cheese
- String Cheese
- Any cheese
- You are opening the cheese drawer, right?
But all snacks and no play would make Joel a dull boy, wouldn’t they? Joel likes to hit up the local dog park and once he has made a friend or two, his favorite game is definitely “catch me if you can.” When he, Laila and Miss A head to a relative’s farm nearby, Joel is very good and has learned to respect the horses and cows. But if he sees a small forest critter in the distance, his prey drive is awakened and he is off like a shot. Fortunately his imaginary leash kicks in after about 10 minutes and he comes straight home.
Whether he is hanging out in the house or at the office, Joel enjoys a good quick disembowelment of a stuffed toy. In his mind, the faster the better, really. He’s pretty sure the objective of finding a toy is to gut the animal and remove the squeaker as quickly as possible and no one has been able to convince him otherwise yet. His first favorite toy, like so many young males, was a dinosaur that he received from dear Ridley, Dr. Amy’s black Goldendoodle. His current favorite toy is actually a catnip-filled squeaky blue bird, go figure!
Joel likes to wrap up a busy day with a snuggle session on the couch or in bed with his girls. He is lucky to be welcome on all furniture and in all positions and is partial to a pillow and blanket, when available.
We hope you have enjoyed this first round of VoyceTails and we look forward to introducing you to other members of our team next month. The first installment of the next round will appear Tuesday, June 7th. If you are especially fond of Joel, you can follow him on Instagram at @yes_my_name_is_joel. Happy Tailchasing!
