Recapping AVMA 2015

As I type this, I am sitting in Boston at the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA)’s Annual Convention. This convention is an opportunity for veterinarians, veterinary technicians, assistants, and practice managers to come together to learn about the latest and greatest in veterinary care. Conventions like these offer continuing education (CE) hours that veterinary team members are required to have to stay up-to-date about animal care. The Voyce team attends several of these events, but this one was different. At this convention, we brought VOYCE PRO to the veterinary world.
Voyce Pro is our newest product. With Voyce Pro, your veterinarian can monitor your dog at home, in her natural environment. This monitoring will allow your veterinarian to get a better idea of what she does during the day (when you may be at work), as well as at night (when you are asleep). In addition, the metrics Voyce’s sensors collect allow your veterinarian to have a better understanding of your dog, and monitor her for development of new conditions, or worsening of pre-existing conditions. Your vet can even use it to help detect issues that can be difficult to identify, such as pain. There is nothing like it on the market!
As a veterinarian, the opportunities with Voyce Pro are very exciting for me. If I can catch a problem earlier, I may be able to treat it better, or cure it sooner. Dogs are notorious for hiding pain, so identifying it can lead to earlier treatment. Additionally, with the Voyce Wellness Management Center, veterinarians now have an innovative way to share education and information with pet parents. Veterinarians sometimes speak “medical” so it is vital pet parents can understand the concerns, diagnosis, and treatment options that the veterinary team is presenting.
So I was very excited to head to Boston, to launch Voyce Pro. The Voyce team has heard from veterinarians over the last 2 years. I wanted to show my veterinary colleagues that Voyce has been listening. We have created Voyce Pro for the veterinary world, to help find problems sooner, and to help monitor dogs painlessly and non-invasively.
The reception was better than anyone could have predicted. The AVMA attendees were excited to see what Voyce has developed, including discussing new service plan options. With these new service plans, pet parents can “lease” a Voyce monitor while their veterinarian tracks the data. By using Voyce Pro in this way, the pet parent and the veterinarian become teammates, working together to evaluate ongoing medical conditions, and monitor for development of new symptoms or issues.
On Saturday we hosted HUNDREDS of veterinarians and veterinary staff members, teaching them about the new Voyce Pro program. The Voyce team gave countless presentations, including demonstrations of how Voyce Pro will work for the veterinarian, while providing advanced care for your pet. We hosted an opening night reception where Voyce team members and bartenders served drinks, gave demonstrations, and discussed Voyce Pro with veterinary team members. We loved hearing all the feedback. One veterinarian even said “Why hasn’t anyone thought of this before?!”
I am so grateful to be working with Voyce, as it gives me an opportunity to help dogs in a new way. I am proud to have contributed to the development of Voyce and Voyce Pro, and I am proud and excited to bring it to the veterinary community.
